Privacy Policy

Toasty (“Toasty,” “we,” “us”) turns any projector or screen into a live dashboard you control from your phone. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at toasty.so and our apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, and Google TV.

What we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google or with an email and password, we store your email address, display name, and a unique account ID. We never see or store your Google password, and email/password credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication.
• Your screens and settings. The screens you create, their names, the device type, whether they face a ceiling, the active app, and that app’s settings (for example a saved location for the planes or planetarium apps).
• Location you choose. Some apps (such as Overhead Air Traffic and the Planetarium) use a location you set explicitly on a map to show relevant data. We do not track your device’s background location.
• Usage and diagnostics. Aggregate, largely anonymous analytics and crash data that help us understand which features are used and fix problems.

How we use it

• To provide the service — syncing your screens between your phone and your projector in real time.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To improve and troubleshoot the apps.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising inside the app.

How your data is handled

Toasty is built on Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Your data is stored on Google’s infrastructure and protected by security rules that restrict access to your own account. A screen’s public view URL (for example /s/{id}) is readable by anyone who has the link, since it must load on a projector without signing in — so don’t put anything private in a screen’s name or settings.

Third-party data sources

The Overhead Air Traffic app fetches public aircraft positions directly from public ADS-B feeds (such as api.adsb.lol and api.airplanes.live) from the device showing the screen. These requests are subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy practices.

Your choices and rights

• Access and update. You can view and change your screens and settings any time you’re signed in.
• Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Account page in the app. Deletion removes your screens and your profile and cannot be undone.

Children

Toasty is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
